Vetlife provides support through Vetlife Helpline and Vetlife Health Support to students. Both support services are free, confidential and completely independent of any other veterinary organisations.
Although we cannot currently offer financial assistance to students, Vetlife Financial Support can direct you to other sources of support and provide debt and benefits advice.
You Are Not Alone
Student life brings its own stresses and pressures and it may not be “the best time of your life.” If you have been experiencing any symptoms of depression for a period of more than two weeks continuously it is advisable to seek treatment from your GP or university support services. Vetlife Health Support is also available to provide completely confidential professional help with mental health issues.
Veterinary students are also very welcome to get in touch with Vetlife Helpline if they would like to talk to a friendly trained volunteer with experience of the veterinary profession in complete confidence. Vet students can find it helpful to talk to someone outside the university who can help them to gain some perspective if they are feeling overwhelmed. The service is available 24-hours a day, every day of the year.
