  • What made you decide to join in this abseil challenge?

Knowing what amazing work Vetlife do in supporting the Veterinary industry and having done the O2 challenge last year the Vetlife team are all amazing and I couldn’t say no!

  • Would you say you’re a natural daredevil?

Yes!

  • What does Vetlife mean to you, and why are you choosing to fundraise?

During my time in clinical practice, I became aware of the exceptional work Vetlife do. Not only have Vetlife supported me, but I know so many people have been supported by the exceptional people working and volunteering for Vetlife. Vetlife are consistently making a positive difference to so many lives, it is unquestionable that I put myself out there to give a bit back to them.

  • What made you decide to join in this abseil challenge?

I love anything dangerous and supporting the charity whilst doing so means it’s all for a good cause.

  • Would you say you’re a natural daredevil?

Yes, Most things I enjoy are dangerous!

RACHEL

  • Name and role at Summit

Rachel Bell, Commercial Relations, Senior Manager

  • What made you decide to join in this abseil challenge?

I like a challenge, just not usually one so far from my comfort zone! Aside from the aim of raising awareness and vital funds for Vetlife, I joined to stretch my limits.

  • Would you say you’re a natural daredevil?

Absolutely not! But, Owain, Jo and John are so I’m hoping their calm influence will see Zoe and I through the challenge.

  • What does Vetlife mean to you, and why are you choosing to fundraise?

As a vet I know first hand how challenging the nature and intensity of the work can be. Having Vetlife available, a team that truly understand this way of life, is invaluable. Vetlife have supported the veterinary community for more than a century, with demand for their services continuing to grow. I’m fundraising to play my small part in ensuring Vetlife will always be there for those that need them.

ZOE

  • Name and role at Summit

Zoe Johnson, Marketing and Events Coordinator

  • What made you decide to join in this abseil challenge?

I’ve got to keep working on expanding my comfort zone and if I can raise money for charity at the same time, I’m in!

  • Would you say you’re a natural daredevil?

I’m very risk-adverse and an over-thinker so there is nothing natural about the daredevil in me! My inner daredevil wears arm bands to paddle in a rock pool…

  • What does Vetlife mean to you, and why are you choosing to fundraise?

I know first-hand how vital support services like Vetlife are and it’s so important that those in the veterinary community have access to these services. Vetlife can’t continue to support those in need without the help of fundraising.
