At its recent Annual General Meeting (AGM), Vetlife proudly presented two Special Recognition Awards, celebrating the remarkable dedication and service of volunteers who have contributed significantly to the work of the charity.
The Vetlife Financial Support and Helpline Committees nominated Jane Wilson and Alison Clark for their outstanding contributions.
Jane Wilson: A Beacon of Dedication in Financial Support
Vetlife Financial Support Manager Kemi Animashaun expressed heartfelt gratitude for Jane Wilson’s exceptional service, stating, “Jane Wilson was nominated for her remarkable contributions as an Area Representative. Having volunteered with Vetlife for over 25 years, Jane joined as an Area Rep in 2018 and has since continuously demonstrated her commitment to improving our Financial Support services.
“Jane’s passion for her role shines through her tireless efforts, contributing new ideas and suggestions to enhance the service. She has made a tremendous impact on Vetlife, whether assisting the team, assessing financial support applications on the Grant Awards Panel, or helping recruit new representatives. Jane is an exceptional volunteer who embodies the heart of Vetlife, and we are incredibly fortunate to have her.”
Jane shared her thoughts on receiving the Chair’s Award: “At a time when the need for Vetlife’s services is ever increasing, I was immensely proud to receive the inaugural Chair’s Award in recognition of my outstanding voluntary support to Vetlife.
“My volunteering contribution to Vetlife Financial Services, and Vetlife in general, is part of a wider collective effort of many other volunteers, employees and trustees.”
Alison Clark: A Leader and Advocate for the Helpline
Vetlife Helpline Manager Rosie Allister highlighted Alison Clark’s invaluable contributions, stating, “Alison’s commitment to the Vetlife Helpline is beyond extraordinary. Since joining in 2017, she has been a cornerstone of our team, and her leadership, dedication and care inspire everyone around her.
“Over the past seven years, Alison has played a vital role in recruiting and mentoring new volunteers, co-presenting at annual training sessions, and supporting other volunteers during busy shifts. In addition, Alison has been a passionate advocate for Vetlife’s mission, representing the charity at conferences and events. Her colleagues admire her selflessness and unwavering support for both callers and fellow volunteers. We are honoured to recognise Alison’s lasting impact on the Helpline and Vetlife as a whole,” Allister added.
Upon receiving the award, Alison Clark said, “I am deeply humbled and honoured to be selected. It is a privilege to be part of such a wonderful charity and to give back to the veterinary community, especially during these challenging times.”
