The VBF owns two pairs of semi-detached bungalows set in a large garden in a quiet cul-de-sac in Burton, near Christchurch, Dorset. The bungalows are used for charitable purposes to accommodate veterinary surgeons, their widows or dependents who are in need of financial or other forms of support. Although no rent is charged, the conditions are that VBF-supported residents are expected to pay a charge for maintenance, as well as council tax and payment for electricity, gas and telephone.
