Applying for help

There are 3 simple steps to make an application to the VBF:

  1. Preliminary Application Form

A completed preliminary application form may be downloaded and returned to the Honorary Secretary, 7 Mansfield Street, London W1G 9NQ or e mailed to info@vbf.org.uk.

If you have any questions or would prefer to have a blank application form posted to you, please call the VBF Administration Manager, Vanessa Kearns, on 020 7908 6385 or email info@vbf.org.uk.

Once the form is returned it will be considered by the VBF Executive (three Officers of the Fund) and you may be asked to go to the next stage or, for those in urgent need of help, an initial payment may be made immediately.

  2. Full Application Form

The next stage is that the Executive may ask for a Full Application form to be completed. This form requires more detailed financial information and may sometimes be completed during a visit to the applicant by a VBF Trustee.  Once this form is returned, the VBF Executive will check references and make an interim decision on the level of support, usually within a fortnight, and payment of any gift or grant awarded will commence shortly thereafter.

  3. Council review the Executive’s decision annually

VBF Council (which includes the Executive) make the final decision on all applications and on the level of continuing support at an annual case review.
